Our latest studio holder is Sarah Gardner. Sarah studied Photography at college and graduated in 1994 from the Nottingham Trent University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art. Sarah’s career started in marketing where she was fortunate enough to work with the country’s leading creative agencies. In 2003 Sarah took a career break to start her family, it was during this time that she returned to her love of art, this time with a bias towards photograph. Working digitally allowed Sarah to experiment with new processing ideas and layer multiply images and painted textures together. Sarah was part of the Milton Keynes Catch Light Collective Photography group and has exhibited throughout the city including the Project Space at Milton Keynes Gallery.
Sarah’s work soon became recognized for her delicate and sophisticated use of digital textures, and as public recognition grew, her work caught the eye of America publishers Focal Press. Commissioned in 2011 to write a photography how-to-book sharing her background, influences, working practices and insights. Since the release of ART BEYOND THE LENS in the summer of 2012 Sarah’s work continues to grow in popularity. Sarah also runs floral photography workshops and has two more planned at Westbury in June.
