On Friday the 29th July Mary had the opening viewing of her first solo exhibition Mary Barnes has had for several years, there are a selection of new pieces as well as a selection representative of past themes. Some new work includes interiors of Westbury Farm, and images made in France and Goa, all of which are soft pastel.
During the exhibition Mary raised £450 that was then donated to Medicins sans Frontieres / Doctors without borders (msf). MSF exists to save lives by providing medical aid where it is needed most – in armed conflicts, epidemics, famines and natural disasters. All these situations call for a rapid response with specialised medical and logistical help. They also run longer-term projects, tackling health crises and supporting people where the need is greatest. They currently have projects running in over 60 countries.
This is a fantastic cause and there are many ways you can support them, if you are looking to donate, organise an event or help in any other way visit their website on:
